The Music & Memory volunteer program provides volunteers with the resources and information they need to support MUSIC & MEMORY® Certified Organizations. Whether by fundraising or working directly with staff, Music & Memory volunteers are dedicated to bringing personal music to those who need it most.
Here are some ways volunteers can support your organization:
- Tech-savvy volunteers can provide tech support by creating playlists in iTunes and loading them onto iPods or SanDisk MP3 Players.
- Volunteer-organized fundraisers and equipment donation drives can offset program costs and bring awareness of your Music & Memory program into the community.
- Volunteers can help with music assessment while fostering meaningful, intergenerational connections with program participants.
All Music & Memory volunteers attend Music & Memory’s volunteer webinar and are provided with the resources and information they need to support your organization, including training on the different types of dementia, symptoms and communication approaches in our additional volunteer training, Dementia 101.
If you would like to open your Music & Memory program to volunteers, let us know! We will make sure your organization is listed as open to volunteer help on our interactive MUSIC & MEMORY® Certified Organization map, where volunteers can find you.
