As one of the most effective interventions for dementia, Music & Memory can boost interest in your organization. To raise awareness of your efforts, consider creating a Music & Memory Facebook page.
Here are some helpful steps to create a Facebook page for your Music & Memory program.
1. Create your page. Log in to Facebook and go to “Pages” to create your organization’s Music & Memory Facebook page. Choose a page category that best describes your organization. We recommend creating a page with the name “Music & Memory at (your organization’s name).”
2. Customize your page with profile and cover pictures, contact information and a link to your website. Fill in a description for your page and add any other details you want your followers to know. This basic information will provide the building blocks of your page.
3. Create content. Start updating your page with content and updates about your program. Share videos and photos (with permission of course). The content on your Facebook page should inform people on your program and pique the interest of potential customers and families. Post regularly and interact with followers by responding to comments or questions.
4. Promote your page. Invite friends, family and co-workers to like your organization’s page. Start promoting your page on your website, newsletter and other media. You may also want to consider creating a Facebook ad for your page.
5. Use Facebook Insights. As your page grows, you can use the Insights feature to learn more about how your followers are interacting with your page. You’ll learn the best time of day to post and what type of content is most successful.
Remember to tag the official Music & Memory Facebook page, @musicandmemory, in your posts! Happy posting!
